I hope you will follow me on my art journey. I consider this a “New Beginning” for me as I started painting again in 2020.

My interest in art began at 7 yrs old. My Aunt Rita, an artist took me to one of her art classes where I painted my first still life of apples in oils. This opened up a creative spark inside and I continued to draw and paint through the years.

I took art classes in high school and later studied with a Chicago artist Edward Cathony. I enjoyed painting landscapes in oils and entering local art fairs with my mom by my side.

I love nature, animals, trees and the smell of spring in the air. Photography is another fun thing to do. I take lots of pictures . I look through the lens setting up a composition for a future painting . Sometimes I see the light dancing on the prairie flowers or the magic of the pine forest. For a moment I am one with the flowers or tree.

Right now I am experimenting with different mediums like gouache, acrylics and watercolors and digitally enhancing my photos into something unique. I hope to continue to create art that will bring some joy and happiness to the viewer.
